Obituary For Milo Jerome Myhre
Milo Jerome Myhre, age 89, of Cottage Grove and formerly of New London, passed peacefully into eternity on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, Minnesota.
Funeral services to celebrate his life were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, at Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Willmar. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment followed at Cloverleaf Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home.
Milo was born on May 23, 1936, in Kerkhoven, Minnesota, to Ole and Judith (Hokanson) Myhre. He grew up in the Kerkhoven community and graduated from Kerkhoven High School in 1954. He attended Anderson College in Indiana, earning his degree in education, and later received his master’s degree in education from Mankato State College. Milo taught school in Peoria, Illinois, for one year before beginning a more than 30-year teaching career in Gardena, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. It was in California that he met the love of his life, Roberta “Robbie” Coke. They were united in marriage on March 8, 1969, and made their home in Cerritos, California.
Following his retirement in 1995, Milo and Robbie built a home on Lake Andrew, where they lived for many years. Milo continued to share his love of teaching at Ridgewater College in Willmar and Hutchinson. Milo enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and was a true do-it-yourself enthusiast. He loved socializing with people and had a deep passion for travel, enjoying both international adventures and road trips. Milo lived a full and blessed life.
Milo is survived by his loving wife, Robbie, of Cottage Grove; three children: Mark Myhre of Inver Grove Heights; Juliana “Jill” Myhre and her fiancé, James Baron, of Coon Rapids; and Sara and Jason Stadther of Cottage Grove; and three grandchildren, Makayla, Logan, and Liliana (Lily) Stadther, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings: Floyd, Lyla, Violet and Viola (twins), Gen, Harley, Adeline, and Joel.
