Obituary For Jeanette Elenor Gault
Jeanette Eleanor Gault, of Spicer, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Glen Oaks Senior Living in New London. Her memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jeanette’s name may be made to Hope Presbyterian Church, 7730 North Shore Drive, Spicer, MN 56288.
Jeanette lived with and bravely battled Parkinson’s disease for nearly the last ten years of her life. Almost four years ago, she transitioned to the Glen Oaks Senior Living Campus in New London. She never gave up her fight. Until recently, she fully expected to find a way to feel better, to overcome Parkinson’s, and to return home. Jeanette never lowered her standards or expectations for herself or others. Her strong faith in God sustained her, and she remained true to herself and her beliefs until the very end. She was a strong, caring woman who lived her life with purpose.
Jeanette was born in 1938 and grew up in a large family as the daughter of a successful farmer. She spent the first seven years of her life on a farm in Ida County, Iowa, and at age eight moved with her family to a farm south of Britt, Iowa. She attended country school and later graduated from Britt High School. Jeanette continued her education at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and then worked as a secretary at a bank until her marriage to Jerry Gault on August 16, 1959. Together, they raised two sons, Steven and Scott.
Jerry and Jeanette made their home in various communities throughout Iowa and Minnesota while Jerry worked for Pioneer Hi-Bred International. In 1986, they settled near Spicer, Minnesota, which remained their home.
Jeanette devoted her married life to supporting her husband and his work, something she greatly enjoyed. She loved Pioneer and the people who worked there as much as Jerry did, and together they made a wonderful team.
Church was central to Jeanette’s life. She cherished everything about her church—its congregation, committees, and especially the many hours she spent working in the church kitchen.
After retirement, Jeanette and Jerry spent part of each winter in San Diego, California, and later Tucson, Arizona. They traveled often, visiting friends and relatives. Summers were spent in Spicer tending their large garden, which they generously shared with family and friends.
Family was deeply important to Jeanette. She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren, teaching them how to bake cookies. She took great joy in being a homemaker and enjoyed reading and listening to music.
Jeanette is survived by her sons, Steven (Cari) Gault, and their sons, Matthew (Laura) Gault and Benjamin (Sydney) Gault; and Scott (Ginny) Gault, and their children, Erin (Tanner) Jones, Lauren (Addison) Cilli, Paige (Kellen) Schauermann, Faith (Tavish) Steele, and Kaitlin (Tyler) Keehr. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren: Logan, Nolan, and Adalie Gault; Olivia, Nathan, and James Jones; Chloe and Harlow Cilli; Kasen and Jack Schauermann; and Piper Schauermann. Additional survivors include her sister, Margaret (Robert) Bell; brothers, George (Janice) Guenther and Eugene (Julie) Guenther; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Gault; her parents, Gilbert and Eleanor Guenther; her sister, Virginia Theulen; brother-in-law, Bernard Theulen; grandson, Joseph Gault; and her parents-in-law, Weston and Aletha Gault.
